“It’s hard to serve as president for all Americans when you’ve disdainfully written off half the nation.” — Obama campaign manager Jim Messina, commenting on the hidden camera video showing Romney speaking disparagingly of 47% of all voters. And here’s the map showing where the most Americans not paying taxes, the ones who supposedly all voted for Obama, actually live.  (As Ezra Klein explains, “Among the Americans who paid no federal income taxes in 2011, 61 percent paid payroll taxes — which means they have jobs and, when you account for both sides of the payroll tax, they paid 15.3 percent of their income in taxes, which is higher than the 13.9 percent that Romney paid. Another 22 percent were elderly.”)
